Limerick City Walking Guide
04th September 2013
We have just finished our book, Limerick City Walking Guide,
two years researching and editing, now at the proof reading stage.(any volunteers??????)
The book includes nine city walks,
(We are working on number ten)
Our goal is to promote Limerick in a positive light and encourage tourists to visit our ancient city,
and also to arm the city citizens with information on our beautiful Limerick city.
We hope readers enjoy the attractiveness and uniqueness of our city and riverbanks walks along the majestic Shannon River.
We hope to have the book published for Christmas,
so we are now in the process of looking for sponsorship to help with the costs associated with printing the book.
if you have any experience in this field we would love to hear from you.

If you would like to see a sample of the Limerick City Walking guide book.
You can download it from the Limerick Walking guide page.

trip to the Isle of Skye in Scotland.
06th May 2013
I was on a trip to the Isle of Skye in Scotland, April 2013 with fellow camera club members
Sean Reidy and Adrian Kelly,
What a place a photographers dreamland everything you need for the landscape photographer,
Snow-capped Mountains, lakes, streams, waterfalls, sea something to photograph in all weathers,
We were in a place called the Fairy pools and the wind was so strong that it lifted me off my feet,
A first time flight for me, I might have been the first photographer into outer space,
a bit scary but a great place to get photographs because the stream is full of colourful stones,
the colours in the stones in the streams are incredible when you put on a polarising filter.
We had extremely long days up at 4am on the day we went to the old Man of Storr,
When arrived there were photographers camping in their tents by the time the sun came up the place was full of photographers.

New Photographs from the West of Ireland,
24th January 2013
I just added a few photographs that I took on a recent trip to the west,
the weather was cloudy with bright spells so I was hoping for a decent sunset,
but alas it was not to be, the sun dropped in behind the clouds, no big colourful show.
But not a bad start for 2013.

my first Jumping spider Photographs
31st May 2012
Jumping Spider,
I found this jumping spider on a window of the loco shed Limerick, a busy noisy railway depot,
I was curious when I saw this tiny spider and when I examined it close up I couldn’t believe my luck,
I have been searching for one of these spiders for two years, but instead it found me.
Tricky little fellow to photograph every time I tried to photograph it would try and jump away,
Success ratio of about 20 to 1, at 3x and 4x f10 to f16 hand held with ettl flash, Dof insanely narrow.
A very difficult shoot, but well worth the effort.
Q: Let me know what you think?

Just added new photographs to the Limerick Folder
19th February 2012
Shannon Estuary. Limerick, Ireland,
There were some great sunsets all week but the only chance that I had to take a few photographs was Saturday, so I headed for the hills of cratloe about 6 or 7 miles from Limerick.
Just my luck the sunset was nothing specular but since I climbed to the top of a hill in cratloe county Clare, in the freezing cold I set up the tripod popped on a grad nd filter, and took a few photographs of the setting sun over the Shannon estuary,
Lough Derg, county Clare, Ireland.
03rd February 2012
Lough Derg, county Clare, Ireland.
Went for a drive on Sunday to lough derg about 10 miles from Limerick,
it rained just before I got there, and grey clouds everywhere
but by the time I parked up on the Clare side of the lake it started to clear, I’ve never seen the water so clear so I popped on a polarising filter and started walking around the shore line until I found something interesting.
